This is a review for the John Muir Family Medicine Residency Clinic. This place is HORRIBLE. The WORST health care I have ever experienced. I would give it negative stars if I could. This clinic leaves its patients feeling helpless and hopeless. I had a family member struggling with anxiety. She had recently been discharged from an inpatient program but was still experiencing symptoms (terrified to leave her room, paranoid thoughts, staying in bed all day). I tried to be seen at the OBGYN department at John Muir Health for two months. Over the course of 2 months, I had 3 different appointments scheduled at 2 different locations. My first appointment was at my preferred location and was cancelled. I was told that there were no available appointments at my preferred location before the end of the year (when my insurance expires). The receptionists, nurses, doctors and security guards are friendly and provide a good service. Easy parking although the spots are pretty tight. It's convenient that there is a LabCorp on site. Deducting 2 stars because of the ridiculous money hungry policies of charging $25 and making you wait 3-5 business days for an LIC 701 form and making you schedule an establishment of care appointment where they do nothing at all except order lab work, before you can schedule a physical exam.
All of them, one by one, are irrelevant here. I had a freaking COUGH that wouldn’t go away and came here FOUR different times. I heard all possible scenarios from post nasal drip to bronchitis! They will give you an XRay and charge you an arm and a leg but they don’t even touch you and examine you. They just write on their computers. I kid you not, if you have the tiniest other option, even if that is to fly to another country, please take that option.
If you’re sick now, expect to see your doctor two months later. What a fantastic service and system!
