I have had two visits with Dr. McGarry for what turned out to be a frozen shoulder. Dr. McGarry made the diagnosis after Xrays and a shoulder exam by him and his PA. He listened well, answered my many questions, and we agreed on a plan of action for my home care and physical therapy to decrease pain and preserve my shoulder range of motion. I have an option for shoulder injection if pain becomes worse at any time. Very happy with this office and the entire staff, so efficient, yet friendly.
Saw Dr McGarry for my knee which I injured in college 40 years ago. I was certain I had torn the meniscus and while the MRI showed it might be a tear, he and his staff were cautious and methodical in their approach. So he prescribed a steroid shot and physical therapy, and my knee is doing MUCH better, without any surgery. Very pleased with my experience and should I have any additional orthopedic needs, Dr. McGarry is the physician for me.
Dr. McGarry and the entire staff at Plano Orthopedic Associates are amazing. Dr. McGarry took time to be thorough to test for all options to relieve my knee pain. After discussing options, I recently had knee arthroscopic surgery. At my post op visit, Dr. McGarry went over his findings with pictures and outlined a proactive recovery plan. I always feel that Dr. McGarry and his team listen to my concerns. They truly care about their patients.
While I was somewhat hesitant to seek a diagnosis Dr, McGarry not only took time to explain what was going on with me but also encouraged me to ask questions and understand how to proceed after my visit. If you are seeking a Doctor that will be a partner with you in managing your joint health, Dr. McGarry is your guy!
Dr. John McGarry is an excellent Orthopedic Doctor that I cannot highly recommend enough. Despite me not having any clear injury besides repeated trauma on the knee with excess swelling, John McGarry was decisive with finding the issue and acting on a procedure to address my problems. As soon as I was able to attend physical therapy, my knee has gotten better! Overall, I am impressed with Dr McGarry and Plano Orthopedics!
