Stephen O'Roark rocks – Several years ago I showed up at John Dellaria with hideously damaged hair, caused by years of trying to make it something it's not. Stephen worked patiently to get my hair back to health, and gave me the best haircut of my life. It's the perfect cut both for the texture and weight of my hair, and for my personality. I wish I'd met him a long time earlier! Anna Ancin-Simmons is an artist for my hair – Let me begin by saying that eight years ago, when my mom came to visit, I made her an appointment with Anna Ancin-Simmons at John Dellaria. My mom has short, spiky, coarse, Chinese hair and Anna cut it SO expertly that my mom (who lives in California) refused to get her hair cut by anyone else! Amazing cut and Amazing service!! – This place is wonderful. This was my second time seeing Nella and the second cut was equally as great as the first!! She made me feel really comfortable. The staff is really welcoming. All and all a great experience!! I highly recommend her and this salon!!
Really bad service – Only my third time and I won't be going back!!! Judging by others' comments it seems their system is totally messed up here. After waiting for 15 minutes I asked if I could see someone else and was met with a blank stare. I felt like I was invisible! Why the attitude?
Rude, abusive staff – Excessive pricing, rude and snotty staff - swerve this joint.
STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH LAST COMMENTS! – I strongly disagree with what this lady has to say. I've been a client of Tommy's for over 6yrs. & I only had a problem with my appt. once. Allison was my savior that day & she came to my rescue. She made sure I was able to get in & out with Tommy (considering he's always completely booked) & made me feel so at ease as to not worry about being late for my function. TERRIBLE customer service – I have been a customer here for over 2 years, getting my hair dried 3 times a week every time I am in New York. Yesterday I had an appointment for a cut at 6.00pm. At 6.25 I was still waiting. No-one had said anything about the person running late, so I questioned the receptionist. Eventually they got someone else to do it, but without my intervention they would just have left me sitting there. Bad management – This place does okay cuts etc. but the minute you have a problem - beware!! I have been here a few times before but recently my appointment was messed up. I called to straighten things out but the manager was really rude. I asked to speak to her boss - John- but she refused. I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience - check the other reviews on here. They really don't seem to care. It's that typical thing with salons where they're in their own little bubble and don't see the bigger world around them.... read more
Go to Danny for all your relaxing and straightening needs – Danny saved my hair (that had been severely damaged at another salon in June '08) with his keratin treatments over the course of the last year. Then, in June, he straightened my hair using Paul Brown's Unwind product. My hair looks and feels fabulous. He's the best!
