Dr. Williams and his team at Midwest Orthopedics/Rush University Hospital are amazing! January, 2019 I was in a car accident that resulted in a shattered left ankle, missing bone and open fractures of both of the bones in my leg which was nearly severed just above the ankle. He took on the challenge of putting my leg/foot back together. Great experience with Dr. Joel Williams and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Came in for pain in my hip, diagnosed with osteoarthritis and recommended to lose at least 15 pounds to reduce possible complications during or after surgery, ended up losing 30 the healthly way over 3 and a half months. Had my surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic with Dr. Williams and did have a complication and stayed in hospital 1 day. Dr. Williams listened, asked questions. He had good staff with him. A PT, a Nursing Assistant. He determined a plan of action that isn't written in stone.
Dr. Williams operated on our daughter to repair/stabilize multiple pelvic fractures. It was a complex surgery and he did a phenomenal job. Not only was the surgery very successful, but Dr. Williams and his staff were also great in terms of answering questions and providing follow-up care. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Williams and his staff have been outstanding! My leg and ankle were severely injured in a car accident. Dr. Williams is a gifted surgeon with a heart of gold! He and his team spent over 6 hours in one surgery reconstructing my ankle and leg. Still in healing process but I am so thankful that he was willing to take me on as a patient.They have taken such good care of me and treat my family so well too. He and every resident were professional caring and kind.

Dr Williams is dedicated, focused, and clearly brilliant in the OR. He really cares about his patients and getting them back to their normal activities in life. He takes the time to talk to you and address all concerns and questions you might have. He also has a wonderful team - PA Lauren and secretary Xiomara both were amazing.
Dr. Williams is a fantastic trauma surgeon. He was very understanding that it was highly important to me to get back to 100% quickly, as i'm a very active person and an avid skier. His repair on my meniscus and tibial plateau was great, and the way he patched up my knee left minimal scarring.
