GREAT I Love Joe Roots It is the BEST Restaurant in town. Good food Great service and Great price. I go every chance I get!
Fair at best I know several friends who love the food at Joe Root's. I think it is fair at best. It is a turn off that when you walk in you are nearly knocked down by the smell of seafood. I got spare ribs there once and there was a hair wrapped around them. If you get a steak salad, there are no fries on it. I think the menu is very limited if you are not a seafood person. It is not the cleanest place either.
nice place. good value this is a locally owned restaurant that specializes in seafood and steak. it's good and its reasonable. right at the head of the peninsula. I've eaten there several times and always got excellent service and quality, tasty food. i highly recommend it.
Someone help them Wish I had better things to say about the place. I used to love going to Joe Roots, now for some reason the food just isn't the same and service is just OK at best. The staff was friendly and happy now its like know one wants to be there. It was a place of value before and now its the same price as the chain restaurants. The reason we used to visit this restaurant was because of the good food and great service and its like both of those ideals died. Someone there needs to step back and just look. Don't let ... read more
Crap! We have this place on our "black ball" list due to the fact that as a group of 8 people we went to eat there. Another couple had problems with their food, a guy in our groups burger was completely raw and we only saw our waitress when she took our order. We asked to speak to the manager and when he was speaking to the gentlemen with the raw hamburger his choice of words were "what do you want me to do about it?". When we told him also that we hadn't seen our waitress he told us that she was overwhelmed. I've managed re... read more
Great Local Place to Eat! We ate at Joe Root's Grill during our recent weekend stay in Erie, and were very impressed. Prices are similar to Outback. I really enjoyed the different things they had to eat. We were very impressed with our crab stuffed portabella appetizer. It was a large portabella mushroom stufefd with crab, and topped with mozzarella cheese that was sprinkled with what tasted like Old Bay seasoning. My husband ate the 16 oz Prime Rib, which was cooked just as he ordered. He had Rice Pilaf on the side which he... read more
The service was fast and friendly. The food was hot and fresh. The seafood was delicious. Sure it cost a few dollars more but it's worth the money. If you want cheap, go to Long Johns. It's not that much more than Red Lobster but the quality to 10 x better. This is one of three places I go when in town and is well worth the drive and money. They are a Veteran friendly restaurant too.
Food was not cooked properly. We received a bloody dripping med rare steak and upon asking the waiter of he thought that was med rare he said it was. Yuck! Sea food was rubbery and over cooked. We spent way too much here for what we got!
Great Place to eat Lake Erie Perch!!! – Joe Roots Grill is awesome! The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The food is amazing and I drool for some more of their Lake Erie Perch. We had a very nice time there, the atmosphere was laid back and friendly and the employees were all very accomodating. I'd go there again and again and would never feel afraid to take a guest! They're a little on the pricey side, but hey ... you get what you pay for, right?? Great place! Lots of history and people who don't mind talking to you abo... read more
