Glendale Arena opened its doors on December 26, 2003. The arena was built as a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility and anchors the 223-acre, $1 billion development Westgate City Center - the "crown jewel" of sports and entertainment complexes. On October 25, 2006, Jobing.com purchased the naming rights to the building and Glendale Arena was renamed Jobing.com Arena. Nice arena - first time there to watch my Minnesota Wild beat the Arizona Coyotes! Parking is outrageous as far as price; prices at the concessions are also too high. We did have a good time.
The arena itself is welcoming and big. We've been there for several hockey games and sat in different spots. Good view of the ice from our seats and the sound system is good! It was discerning to see people way up in the nosebleed section when there were plenty of seats below. Since the fan base is not able to fill the seats, maybe the upper deck should be closed and the tickets priced accordingly. The assortment of eating places is good, but the prices are exorbitant.
