My parents took us there for my son's birthday and the service and food was awesome!!!
Just moved to the area and heard a lot about this place. Loved the atmosphere of the Shak! Being a die hard east Carolina BBQ fan, the BBQ was not bad, but I have had better. My wife had a Ribeye steak Hoagie that was delicious. Can't wait to go back though and try the pizza and Burgers, they looked delicious on the menu. <Chis>

My husband and I love JJs BBQ sandwiches. We stop every month when we travel from Lynchburg to Lexington. We've been please to see JJs grow and get even better over the last year. Everyone is very friendly, the food good and the atmosphere fun. Love it when the fireplace is going. I'm glad the trash receptacles are gone because they tended to overflow and attract flies. The food is delicious and the waitresses are very professional my special waitress was Angelica Berger..
My family and I stopped in for breakfast this morning and truly enjoyed everything! Our waitress, Angelica, was simply awesome! We will definitely be back!
Shout out to these guys and girls who operate the Shak. On a VERY short notice they were able to prepare a delicious smoked turkey that fed 30-40 and everyone (including myself) was delighted. Delicious, tender, well seasoned....... Highly recommend to anyone that appreciates a solid meal!

I have eaten BBQ from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, Wyoming, South & North Carolina and I BBQ myself. I must say JJ Meat Shake is good BBQ. I would recommend it to everyone.
