Wow what a gem of a BBQ restaurant in the middle of Virginia. I had the sampler platter and you want leave hungry I guarantee. The meat was spot on with just enough smoke and flavor. The home made sauces was very good and the Boss had just the right amount of heat. If I had one complaint it would be that the brisket could have cooked a little longer, but it made up for it in flavor! I will be back anytime I'm in the area.
Pit Turkey and Pulled pork were delicious, wonderful housemade sauces, and all the fixins were homemade
My husband and I drove up from the Roanoke area yesterday for lunch and will be making it a regular outing. He had the fried oysters and is still raving about them. I had the brisket and it was amazing. I have had brisket all over the country and this was in the top 2 meals. The staff was very friendly and concerned about the patrons having a good experience. I have read reviews about the hush puppies ...that would have been the "icing on the cake" - we didn't receive any bread with our meals - we found it odd. But still won... read more

The food and service was wonderful. Angelica was our waitress, so nice, friendly and was at our table several times checking to see if we needed anything. We ask for to go cups of water an tea, which was the best, and immediately she returned with them. Each meal we ordered was delicious, home made slaw, greatest bake beans ever. And large portions of everything on our plates. Had to get take out boxes. We had to wait a while for a table, but that's a clue. Being busy is a good sign.
