I made an appointment for a tire alignment which they said would cost me $79.95. I dropped my car off to them so they can do the alignment and 1 hour later the receptionist calls me back and gives me a whole list of things that need to be fixed on my car and also stated my oil needed to be changed (I never asked them to check my oil or anything else but the alignment) and then gives me a total of $1100. If there was an option for no stars i would have picked it. I went in to get two new front tires put on sometime in june it is now october and only 20000 miles later on 60000 mile tires and they are worn so bad the belt is showing on one and almost the other. So I went back to have them replace those tires on warranty and all they did was give me the run around and acted like I was stupid. After leaving work tonight, I noticed my car was pulling really hard to the left, and was making a "thumping" nose. Sure enough, my tire was completely flat. I stopped at Northtown Automotive, they were about to close and could not fix the flat however , they did air up the tire, and recommended I drive to Goodyear on Swift Ave. They too were about to close and couldn't fix the tire . Have taken my car here since I bought it a few years back & have always had excellent experiences! They take care of my baby & I've never had to worry about being taken advantage of like I have at other shops! You guys are the best!!
I am new to NKC and had some rather serious tire and front end alignment issues. I knew they were there but not nearly as bad as they turned out to be. So, by pressing and immediate necessity moreso than desire, I reluctantly took my car to Jim's after learning of their shop right here in NKC on Armour, and driven by there so many times for the 2+ years even prior to living in NKC. My first visit Jim's, found them through Google! Overall was an excellent experience. Major clutch and other work done on my Mini on short notice over 2 days. Work had to be completed because we were taking a long trip immediately after the repair work. I asked them to do a thorough road test after the work to make sure no surprises on the road. Happy to report after the trip that the car worked perfectly, and the overall experience with Jim's Discount Tire & Brake was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Don't ever use Jims discount tire and brake service. Today I tried to have Jims discount tire and brake service install a set of 24" tires on a set of wheels and them put them on my truck. After getting no help unloading the tires they had an employee help unload my wheels. He dropped the first one about 6 inches from the ground, which made me pause out of concern. I moved the second wheel myself. He then tossed the third box with a wheel in it straight to the ground. He damaged my wheel in the process. I figured the guy was... read more
I am the last person on earth to believe that something is truly as good as everyone says it is. Jims Discount Tire & Brake is the exception. In fact, my experience there last week was even better than expected. Every positive statement in every review you will read here is absolutely true and they will have my business for as long as they stay in business. Three thumbs up.
Walked in here after I was recommended by a friend. I had a nail in one of my tires and needed a patch. It was pretty busy when I got there, yet they got my tire patched and I was out of there within 15 minutes and they only charged me $12! Needless to say that after the service department at my dealer wanted to charge me $30 for doing this same task, I was very happy to have it done for less than half the price and probably half the time.
