My experience with Dr. Jessica Treto and Bayshore Hackensack Meridian was a mix of good and incredibly frustrating. The initial consult went well—I wasn’t in significant pain at that point, and the plan for surgery seemed straightforward. It all started in March 2023 when my husband was in the ER with a perforated colon due to diverticulitis. Dr Treto came in and explained what would happen with such unassuming confidence that we both felt at ease. She listened to his concerns and adjusted the care accordingly. Unfortunately his body had other ideas and he needed a temporary colostomy bag. Fast forward to May for a follow up visit with her. My husband has been having problems for about a year now. She gave us a lot of time and is not just rushing to surgery, but rather is doing extra tests to confirm things. She has an amazing bedside manner and I would highly recommend her. It was about a 45 minute drive but totally worth it!!!!

As a surgical nurse with over 40 years of patient care experience, I've never met a surgeon with as much bedside manner, professionalism and apparent surgical skill. Her approach to the patient & family is up front & honest, informative, accurate & complete. This young surgeon displayed character & empathy, far beyond her professional training. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
