Our three kids see Dr. Birkhauser since they were babies. She's straight forward, answers questions in an easy to understand manner.. and good with the kids. Our kids usually have a great time seeing her, even during vaccinations!
Incompetent pediatrician. Does not catch the root of the issue right away and when she refers her patients she is not honest and does not communicate well and provide inaccurate information. She thinks patients needs her but it is the other way around. Unfortunately Hoag corporate does not see it. A lot of parents are switching to other pediatricians in the same office. If we could give zero star. her office staff is rude and unprofessional like her.
Didn’t catch a major issue on an x-ray & even though there was congestion in her lungs and my daughter was up coughing all night for several nights? She gave me an extremely difficult time getting a note for school - acting more like a truant Officer than a physician for children in my opinion.
Dr Birkhauser is amazing. Not only is she thorough, she carefully evaluates my childrens' health and looks beyond the symptoms for other possibilities. She does not hesitate to refer to a specialist. She is responsive and timely in every instance of calls to the office. Dr Birkhauser explains things in a straight forward way and answers all questions. My kids love her too! She is so warm and engaging with children, and the absolute consummate professional. Best pediatrician in Orange County.
My husband and I really liked Dr. Birkhauser as a person; she's great with little ones and seems to enjoy her job. Her office is nice, her staff is okay, and it's usually easy enough to get an appointment. However, I have really had a problem with how quickly she jumps to medicate our child, instead of digging deeper to find the root of a problem. I want a doctor that's going to take my concerns seriously, and work to solve my child's ongoing health issues, not just pacify us with a pill or two.
Friendly, knowledgable and caring. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our decision to go with her as our doctor.
She listens to all of my concerns and answers all of my questions. She is a knowledgable doctor and has a state of the art office. Thereis a seperatw waiting area for sick kids. Always on time, no long waits. We love going to her. We interviewed three doctors and offices, she was our favorite. Plus her staff is very kind and professional. So glad our friends recommended her!
