We filed most paperwork ourselves out of pocket. We had difficulty getting them on the phone and when we did we felt we were just patronized and ignored. We were told not to file an appeal letter and wait for a hearing. Going against this advice, with help from our union we wrote an appeal letter. A few weeks later we received our award notice that we had won our claim. We appealed their fees because we felt the littel services weren't worth it. SSDI agreed and cut their fees.
