Dr. Charen had done Meniscus surgery on both my knees, most recently last month, I have only good things to say about him, and the staff at Orthopedic Assoc of Central Jersey.
TERRIBLE! I was referred here by my workers compensation case manager. Needless to say I waited 2 and 1/2 hours only to be told that I could not be seen because I had prior surgery to the same area recently, really? So the appt. was made, the records were sent, I filled up additional paperwork in the office and 2 1/2 hours someone realized that I could not be seen, really??? Thanks for nothing!
Dr. Charen essentially told me that at age 45 that I was too old to have surgery for an abdominal injury and the chance of his success at the surgery was slim. He had me get a 45 minute long MRI, reviewed the disk I brought him for about 90 seconds and then told me to find a general surgeon because he really only does knees and shoulders. I would not recommend seeing Dr. Charen.
Dr. charen has done a good job detecting my bone tumor. I had seen many other dr before going to dr. Charen, on the very first appointment he found out the problem and guided us to the best oncologist. I recommend him to all my friends
Very caring,did excellent job on my husbands hip.
Dr. Charen refused to write me a prescription because "he didn't believe in it." I am currently pregnant and in pain with a previous diagnosis and he wanted to do an xray. When I reminded him I was pregnant he said "well I there's nothing you can do then." When I requested PT to manage the pain until I can get an xray he refused. Receptionist was very pleasant but the "nurse" who brought me in to the room made it clear that she was extremely annoyed that I didn't bring my previous imaging.
He did my hip replacement and it was great. There is no pain and I am walking like I did 20 years ago.
Dr. Charen has preformed two surgeries on me and has done a superb job on both occasions. The first operation was due to an osteochondroma on my femur, it was removed without any issues. The second operation was due to a grade 3 ACL and lateral meniscus tear, the reconstruction surgery went flawlessly. All throughout recovery I constantly received compliments from several physical therapists on how quickly I recovered and how well of a job the surgeon had done with the scar. Excellent doctor.
Dr. Charen recently repaired my torn meniscus. I was very happy with how patiently he worked with me as I (over-optimistically) thought I might be able to muscle through without surgery. While the first few days after surgery are a little rough, I healed quickly, and feel great. He was great at explaining, offering options, and then finally helping through the surgical process. I would recommend him to friends and family without hesitation.
