I consulted several surgeons prior to selecting Dr. Ackerman to perform my minimally invasive hip replacement. His evaluation and explanation of options were most thorough. Pre-op instructions were clear. Dr. Ackerman visited me after surgery, explaining the recovery process. I did not have pain, and 2 weeks post surgery I was able to drive, walk 2 miles, and ride a stationary bike for an hour. Dr. Ackerman is skilled in the latest techniques, has a great staff, and is an excellent surgeon.

I suffered for over a year w/ defective prosthesis he did the revision. I am doing much better w/ my mobility, less pain & improved circulation to my leg. He has blessed hands & a wonderful courteous staff. Highly recommend him (especially as retired RN) He reminds me of the old fashioned doctor that responds to questions & personally returns calls.

Dr. Ackerman replaced both of my hips at the same time, and he did an incredible job. He is a meticulous surgeon. I was barely able to walk before the surgery, but now I can walk many miles, pain-free. His expertise and skill have changed my life.

Took my mother to see Dr Ackerman for hip pain, doctor was very transparent, caring and treated us with the most respect of any doctor I had to deal while caring for my mother, I will recommend Dr Ackerman to anyone that has hip or knee pain, the surgery was a success, the first time my mother went to see Dr Ackerman she was on a wheelchair because of the pain, three months post surgery shes walking with a cane and her way of life has improved, thanks to Dr Ackerman team at IBJI

I met with over 8 surgeons before selecting Dr. Ackerman to perform my limited hip replacement (resurfacing) procedure using the Birmingham device. Dr. Ackerman does both the resurfacing as well as the minimally invasive anterior hip replacement. After several long and patient conversations, I confidently selected Dr. Ackerman. Five weeks out of surgery, I could not be more pleased with his care or his competency. He is EXCELLENT and PATIENT.

I have seen Dr. Ackerman twice this year for my shoulder and knee. I got excellent care from him. He is very helpful, explained plan of care and options within patient understanding in an unhurried way. Moreover, I want to say that Dr. Ackerman's staff was very accommodating from x-rays to taking care of your next appointment and other paper works..

I had both hips surgically fixed by Dr. Ackerman. First on the left last year, then on the right this year. After such a long recovery, I can't recommend Dr. Ackerman enough. Pre op he was very clear about my options and alternatives. Post op he was genuinely concerned with my recovery, answering every question and concern I had. He always greeted me with a handshake during each appointment which I thought was a great gesture.
