The truth is in the potatoes au gratin! – Best steak, Best wine, what else is there? Oh yeah, The potatoes Au Gratin!
Are you kidding? Order the chicken. – The work steak in the name of this place is a missnomer. The one I had there, a Felet, cooked rare, was flavorless and rubbery. I expect my rare steak to be cool on the inside, but not on the outside. The srever when I complained was some what less than sympathetic. The martini was good. Having worked as a chef in my youth, I would rate this as one of the worst steaks I have ever had. I'll try the chicken next time if there is one.
Charley's is AWESOME !!!!!!!! I has the surf and turf ....yummmy. might I add. Also the portabello mushrooms in hollindase, and the escargo, WOW ! I definetly reccomend Charleys .
Far superior, in my opinion. – Charley's Steakhouse is far superior to Bern's or any other steakhouse in Tampa. The reason that I feel secure in this opinion is that Bern's dry ages steak and it takes away what I have always appreciated about good steak, juice. Both places have great service and the side dishes are fabulous at both establishments. The reason for the better rating for Charley's is the steak and the atmosphere. grat steak – COMBINE THERE 20 oZ FILET AND THERE 20OZ LOBSTER TAIL, IT CAN BE SHARED WITH YOU MATE AND YOU BOTH HAVE A GRESAT DINNER.
It was just ok – The food was good, the setting was nice, but is was missing a sincerity I would expect from a single location operation.
mm-mm GOOD! – Talk about a good steak - st reasonable prices. Charley's blows Bern's out of the water - oh, and for about 1/2 the price.
Where's the beef in Tampa? – Charley's in Tampa was a wannabe-great steak experience. The attempt to be 1st class was there, but it wasn't sucessful.
great aroma – From the minute you grab the aligator door handles, you can smell the aroma of steaks sizziling on the grill. Great atmosphere, wine list and most of all, selection of food. Do not suggest to go if you are in a rush.
