Love the personal touch we always get when seeing Dr. Birkenhauer. She always takes a practical look at non-prescription solutions before recommending prescription drugs. Through the approximately 5 years my wife and I have been going to her, we have seen excellent improvement in our health statistics even though we are now in our 70's. I highly recommend her, best we have since being in the LA area.
Best Doctor in Alabama, Doctor Birkenhauer has treated my family for over 20 years, she is a great doctor. Doctor Birkenhauer is very friendly, takes time to listen to your problems and takes proper methods to treat you. There is no doctor I trust more.
Very impersonal. Poor follow up. Not just one time, either, I’ve spent at least 8 years as her patient. I must find a new doctor who is more professional and actually tries to communicate with me on a timely basis.

My wife and I have been lucky enough to have Dr. Birkenhauer as our family doctor, for almost a decade now. Dr. Birkenhauer, is the best around. My wife has a lot of medical issues; she requires a lot of specialized care; it's here, at her office where we receive that special care. She's a professional, thru, and thru. I’m a new patient and bc she does a meet and greet with all new patients, you have the opportunity to share all your health concerns and family history directly with her, not a medical assistant. You also get to know her as well. She addresses every concern immediately and gives sound medical and nutritional advice.
I got to see her the first time. Then all I saw were nurse practioners. I requested to see her a couple of visits ago and got an appt with her. When I got there they said I would have to reschedule to see her, or see the nurse practitioner. Dr. B is great, but not if you don't get to see her.
She is one of the best Dr,s I have saw, very caring, and listens well.
