The place has a great energy. Warm lighting, friendly staff, and frequent musical guests. Don't sleep on their surprisingly good beer list too, if you go there later in the evening.
Excellent coffee and friendly service! I find myself looking for reasons to go to Decorah so I can stop here.

We were on vacation staying one night in Decorah. We found Java John's in the middle of the afternoon and it was great. We had lattes shared a nice sandwich. It was a perfect pick me up. If I lived in Decorah I believe I'd be there every day.
Absolutely love Java John's Coffee House!! The best skinny Mocha ever (my daily drink), and the pastries are incredible!! Your friend from Vancouver, Washington. See you next summer when I fly in to see the Decorah Eagles and friends!!
