I can only say I wouldn’t recommend Dr. Plotnik at all. My daughter’s vision case is very delicate and he didn’t took the best approach to improve her vision. If anything, it got worse. I won’t go into details cuz I wouldn’t even know where to begin and at this point it really doesn’t matter anymore. Please do your research before you decide on any surgery/treatment with him.
I am a cardiologist in town and have been taking my daughter to Dr. Jim Plotnik for her nearsightedness for the last 3 years. The office staff is rude and disorganized, the doctor is always late by at least one hour and has poor skills with children. The in-house optical shop is an abomination of poor quality and poor service. To be specific, our last appointment was at 8:15am and we were asked to arrive 15min early at 8am which we did. Average, not impressed – Our son is 3 and has had eye issues since birth. We recently moved to Flagstaff from San Diego. We were referred to Az Pediatric Eyecare by our amazing doctor in SD. Right away I had scheduling issues as I was unable to come to many appointments due to the fact that I have to drive 2 hours with two kids, one being in school. The "Answering Service" was a wreck. Great, Professional Eye Doctor – Great MD who makes everyone comfortable. Knows how to get everyone to cooperate during the exam and then can explain everything...clearly, simply and with great patience!! Wouldn't take our family's eyes' to anyone else.
A "Must See" Pediatric Eye Specialist Dr. James Plotnik is a true professional when it comes to children's eyes. He is in his element with taking care of children's eye concerns. He and his staff are friendly, efficient, and he gives a much more thorough exam than other pediatric eye specialists my kids have seen. If you're in need of a pediatric eye specialist for your kids, I believe you'll be pleased with your visit with Dr. Plotnik.
