I have been looking for a competent Dr since my other neuro retired . I was very impressed with him and his knowledge of my neurological problems. His staff was friendly and efficient. I’m very blessed to have found him!
Visiting for the Holidays, I Had a Seizure over in the Panhandle of FL. I went to ER via ambulance. The ER said I needed a follow up appt. within 3 days for MRI, EEG and other Testing needed. Could not get an appt in Panhandle of FL within 3 mo. My Neuro is 1800 miles away. We called around and Dr. Perrien was able to get me in for an appointment and sent me next door to the hospital for EEG, MRI and other testing to find out what is going on. I had with me all my previous paperwork from my curr
I was in his office for literally less than 10 minutes. He barely did an exam and wouldn’t listen to my complaints and what I thought was causing my migraines. He was snarky and aloof. I was very disappointed.
Do not waste your time or co-pay. He doesn’t listen, didn't take the time to review the records I brought in. He was not interested in any testing; he just wrote a script for the oldest medication in the world. I drive 2 hours to be treated like trash. Never again!
He diagnosed my mother with low sodium, put her on Rx that highly drugged her, consequent falls that broke her shoulder, later split her elbow, got sepsis and died. We had asked if there was another way to treat the low sodium and he said yes, less effective, offered nothing. He was treating her for seizures. Dilantin worked well but he took her off due to liver enzymes, then put her on phenobarbital. I told him she was still seizing. He said “she doesn’t look like she’s seizing to me!”
When you loss your compassion and prejudge patients that you don’t know their history, you need to go to the retirement home and play a round of golf! I pray you never have the pain that some of your patients have and are not given treatment! The one star is for the staff! P.D.
Awesome, experienced and has a deeper understanding of his practice in comparison to another doctor I have seen.
I have had several Nerve conduction studies over the last 20 plus years by Dr. Perrien. The last one about a month ago. What I'd like to know is, has anyone ever had a positive NCV from him? Other than the usual peripheral neuropathy diagnosis? He has no bedside manner and his staff is rude. I'm going to ask to get a second opinion from someone else. It seems that he's the only one doctors here in Mobile use. I don't believe in him at all.
He seemed very concerned with my issue and after ordering the appropriate tests, I finally got the answer to what my problem has been. Thank you!
