If you need a total hip replacement, I highly recommend to stay away from "Posterior Approach", which is easy for surgeon, but comes with the most painful, more invasive with very long recovery for patients. After almost one year out of posterior surgery, I am unable to walk normally and still have pain and swelling in my leg, whilst my friend who is the same age and heavier than me, after doing anterior surgery on both hips, was able to start normal and pain-free walk. Dr Huddleston did my hip replacement a little over a year ago, sometimes I have to think twice about which one I had done. I'm TOTALLY pain free! I ride and show horses so it was important to me to be able to still be very active. Stanford hospital is just the best, they treat you like you're the only person they need to take care of, and the food's fantastic!
