I have been going to Dr. McAlexander since 2011 and he is such a great doctor! I moved and still go to the Doc, even though it's a 2 1/2 hour drive each way for me. He's that good and doesn't push the medication route. He would rather have things heal naturally. And his staff is just as great! MacKenzie, Sabrina, Nancy, and his other office staff know their stuff. My father has had numerous visits to Dr. Mac. He is truly the most caring doctor we have ever come across. He is knowledgeable on his field of expertise and our entire family highly recommend him to anyone.

James is one of the best doctors I’ve ever met. He does an incredible amount of evaluation prior to making a diagnosis and explains everything first to his assistant in technical shorthand prior to discussing it with the patient. I had a 90 minute thorough examination of my foot problems vs another doctor across town that took an IPad photo of my foot and charged 750.00 for the appointment and the insole. Dr. Mc Alexander has treated me since a roof fall accident resulting in a complex ankle fracture, diabetes and resulting infections. His care and treatments are extremely helpful and presently continues. I thank God for his skill and care.

As a hospital-based internist working in Tacoma, I have worked with Dr. McAlexander for over 10 years. I've often been present when he's interacted with patients, and they've universally raved about him. He's hard-working, clinically meticulous, and his genuine concern for patients is a model for everyone. He's hands-down one of the clinicians of any speciality I've ever met, and I consider him an example of the kind of doctor I strive to be.

I met Dr. McAlexander for the first time in the emergency room of St. Anthony Hospital where I had gone as a result of a badly infected ulcer on my foot. After his initial assessment and our discussion of approaches to address the issue, I checked into the hospital. His coordination with the hospital staff and infectious disease physician was exceptional. Dr James D. McAlexander, DPM of Gig Harbor Foot and Ankle Clinic is amazing! He helped me get rid of my toenail fungus, which I’ve suffered through for 21 years and 3 prior Podiatrists – only to have it spread & grow more and more every year. Within 4 months it’s now almost gone! He’s a 10 in my Book!!
