Starting in early July, Dr Huston ping-ponged me back and forth with a spine surgeon for four months, continually insisting that I had no worse hip arthritis than any other 55-year-old would have and that I shouldn’t be in the pain I described. At my October 28th appointment, I walked out. Within a week I saw a specialty practice in KC, had new xrays that showed significant deterioration and on January 29th had a total hip replacement. Dr Huston is fantastic. Careful, highly intelligent, kind and incredibly talented with his surgeries. My plastic in an old TNR had broken off. He found it and fixed it. Once before he saved my life after an accident. That's because he truly dedicates himself to his profession to help his patients as much as possible.
When I was told I needed a double hip replacement, it was no surprise. I had been expecting it for forty years—I was born with congenital hip dysplasia. I’ve never been a fan of doctors and have kept myself out of the hospital for as long as possible because of it. I admit, when I first met Dr. Houston, I was skeptical. He was great and his assistant, Drew is also very good. They replaced my right hip 10-20-2020.
