It took a long time to get to this appointment. I felt rushed, not a clear explanation other than after an MRI he stated we could go in really small in look around. I've had a bakers cyst for over 8 months in my knee. The Dr told me to make an appointment 6 months out then decided if I want to go through with this. I went to follow his suggestion with a bitter self righteous appointment setter who told me. "I'm not making an appointment that far out in my books" I calmly stated. Dr Bates is a wonderful surgeon. He performed my knee and hip replacement. I am so pleased and happy I had them done. My quality of life is much improved
I fractured my foot and was referred by UCSD East campus emergency department to a clinic for follow-up and potential surgery. The phone system has been frustrating, as it's difficult to reach anyone until reaching a point of frustration. When I called the Emergency Department again, they advised me to get a referral from my primary doctor. Even after following their instructions, I encountered the same issue. I am in severe pain. Does not mean anything to the staff or doctors bates. Left me feeling like I mean absolutely nothing. It feels like they are there to make $. The care can't be good if no one cares including the doctor.
