I had an umbilical hernia repair about 6 years ago and he was excellent. My concern was recovery and returning to training. As promised, I trained cardio two days after the surgery and was back to a normal routine in less than a week. A remarkable post hernia surgery situation.
Dr. Goodyear used heavy Ethicon mesh in my moderately sized umbilical hernia repair even though he advertised that he used lightweight ultrapro mesh almost exclusively. I trusted Dr. Goodyear to not use the dangerous heavy mesh and he betrayed that turst. My life has been a living hell the past 18 months with severe chronic mesh pain. He offered no real solution in followup visits. He may be a good surgeon, but he clearly ignores quality of life issues associated with heavy mesh.
Absolutely the Best! I did my due dilengence and flew to PA to have Dr. Goodyear do my double hernia! Absolutely the finest care and work! Really an amazing experience!
Dr. Goodyear provided a stellar overall experience. From my preliminary pre-op visit to the post surgical summarization exam, Dr. Goodyear demonstrated approachable professionalism, while explaining his unique hernia repair technique in layman's terms.. He proved to be attentive to detail and supportive through-out the recurrent inguinal repair process. In fact the surgery went so well, I was on my feet and actively back to work, albeit slightly sore, in 4 days! Highly Recommended!
