Dr. Jakes seems like a decent doctor, several of his staff are terrible.I have called and left numerous messages with them, never to get a call back. The last time, I actually went to the office, and was told that my insurance company was causing a problem. The insurance company, however, said they hadn't received anything from the doctor's office, and said they would reach out to them for the information. The only reason I'm still seeing Jakes is because the next closest doctor with a good reputation is over 50 miles away.
Dr. Jakes is a top notch Doctor. He knows what he is doing - he is very factual and he got me on a treatment plan that is working. I am so grateful for Dr. Jakes. His staff is also top notch. If you are looking for someone to hold you hand keep looking but if you are looking for a Dr. with extensive knowledge in his field and can get you on the right track than he is your guy.
Always get friendly service from office staff Dr Jakes does not have a good “bedside manner. He seems to always be in a hurry
Dr. Jakes is one of the very best physicians in the US! Notice, I did not say best Rheumatologist. Dr. Jakes is much more than the best in the field of rheumatology, he is a very experience, smart, and knowledgable Rheumatologist without question, but he is much more. He practices the true art of medicine. He very thoroughly gathers medical information and works to solve the mystery. He delivers diagnosis and best recommendations of treatment. Smart patients will do well to follow his advice. Dr. Jakes does not hold you hand... read more
Barely spends 5 min with you. Brought up an issue I was having to see if it had to do with my Fibro. He never asked me any questions to determine if it warranted me seeing another doctor. Simply told me to take an over the counter med. A few months later I found out I had cancer. Had he simply asked a few BASIC questions, I would have found the cancer earlier. One of the worst Doctors I ever met.
Dr. Jakes has been the only doctor I've seen that takes my symptoms seriously. He's not a warm and fuzzy kind of doctor, but then I'm there for a medical assessment, not a social call. His 'just the facts' approach is perfectly fine with me, and the most important thing is getting a diagnosis and/or treatment plan for what's going on. I was able to get both today as my recent labs had new findings which helped steer things to a diagnosis. His Staff is also very kind & polite. Grateful.
I met with Dr Jakes for the first time this week. Let me start by saying he will not be your best friend. He will not greet you with a warm embrace and ask about your family. BUT he will give you the medical attention you deserve. He will thoroughly assess you and work towards a diagnosis. He was able to help me more than any other doctor has in 3 years. I highly recommend him and his staff.
When I met Dr Jakes I did not get warm fuzzy feelings, BUT when I left his office I was so very thankful for his expertise. After a year of being dismissed by other medical professionals, he listened to my story and performed a thorough assessment. He asked a lot of questions and answered all of my questions. I left his office happy and with a treatment plan. I am an RN and Dr Jakes did a great job today! I read the reviews before I went and felt the need to respond. Thank you Dr Jakes.
Dr. J. Jakes is a bit reserved and a little stiff. However, he knows his stuff. He does not waist time and gets to work immediately. My waiting time was about 15 minuets and my total visit about 45. His nursing folks anticipate his needs. He fixed a frozen finger and helped with shoulder pain, including a shot. After three months the symptoms have not come back. He is not a hale-fellows-well-met kind of guy. He is just a fine, professional doctor.
