Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is very much an assembly line operation. My Dr, Dr Kaplin could not have identified me from a two person lineup if his life depended upon the identification. Prior to my visit I consulted two separate medical professionals both of who said that an x-ray would be unnecessary, unproductive and a waste of money and resources. Dr Madden is very nice and quite capable, my concern is regarding the support staff. On November 22, I was referred by Dr Madden for surgery and was told I will have it scheduled in 7-10 days, the instructions also indicated if I did not hear anything call the scheduling department. On Nov 24, I received a bill form JOI for Dr Madden's surgery stating that I owed $128.00 and if I did not make the payment the surgery would be cancelled. Stay away from JOI especially Dr FREEMAN. They performed a hip resurfacing and during the procedure they have to break a bone off to gain access to the joint. They reattach the bone with 2 screws. The X-ray shows they obviously used too long of screws and they almost went all the way through to the other side so they didn't screw them in all the way as they should.
