History The Jaarsma Bakery in Pella, Iowa has been offering delicious "Dutch Treats" since 1889, when it was founded by Harmon Jaarsma who used recipes he brought over as an immigrant from Holland. A hundred years ago, Harmon had two brick ovens in the bakery that were fired with wood. After the ashes were brushed out, the bread was put in to bake, followed by the buns, Dutch Letters, cookies, and finally rusks as the ovens slowly cooled down before re-firing. LOVE the Dutch letters!!!
Received my order today all the way to Texas. I couldn’t wait had to open one of the packages and it was delicious... thank you so much for offering shipping...give me a little taste of home. I will definitely be ordering again !!!!
The only thing to say is Dutch Letters! I’m so glad they ship. I live in Texas, but was born in Iowa. I always have to visit when I’m in the state.

Delious pastries, nice and fresh
I only come once a year but I just have to stop at the Jasrsma bakery. Even though the lines were long the clerks were fast, friendly and helpful and made the wait short. Everything I have tried tastes melt in your mouth wonderful.
Omg, these Dutch letters were an absolute new favorite.
