About this business

History The Jaarsma Bakery in Pella, Iowa has been offering delicious "Dutch Treats" since 1889, when it was founded by Harmon Jaarsma who used recipes he brought over as an immigrant from Holland. First Class Bakery You won't want to walk past this bakery without stopping in to look at all the delicious baked goods in the cases. Breads, pies, cookies, and other assorted pastries are all so tempting. Be prepared to stand in line to wait for service during Pella's annual Tulip Festival . That will give you more time to look around at the Dutch displays in this delightful bakery.

Who needs Krispy Kreame??? Oh boy, a dutch bakery in the heart of Pella, IA. Wonderful selection of donuts makes you forget about the chain's out there that mass-produce their donuts. The best is the pastery's though, with dutch letters being the best thing they offer, it is a tradition!

Jaarsma Bakery My toddler son loves their "thumbprint cookies", which as just shortbread cookies about the size of a quarter with a dab of frosting on top. Their prices are awesome, and their selection is mind-boggling. They have breads, cookies, donuts, cakes, and a few specialty pastries. My son won't let me pass without going inside! You should try it too!

I've only had treats others have bought or Dutch letters of theirs at Casey's and Hy-Vee. I cannot wait to enjoy them fresh. Couldn't wait for a treat so I ate a monster cookie.
