RecommendedBest crash pad in town! for the location for the price , for the vibe! Very dynamic place. The staff are continuously making improvements. Full of positive energy and creative spirit, creative people, backpackers, bicyclers, yogis, hikers, students... the shared rooms can get a little close quarters, but you get used to it, learn to adapt and get along-it’s part of the hosteling experience-there is mutual respect within a very diverse crowd ...it is beautiful!... their mission is spreading peace through knowledge of culture.... read more

The best! I've stayed in a few hostels, but none like this. Free breakfast and homemade dinner, weekly outings to some of San Diego's numerous attractions, super clean bathrooms, spacious kitchen and people that are so lovely to be around! 😍I was greeted by Friendly helpful staff and Colive's when I was staying there as a solo traveller. Honestly, it made my trip. I went off - did my own exploring of course, but the outings were just lovely and it was nice to know I had ppl to talk to when I got back. Staff, atmosphere, location.
It's a great place full of awesome people from around the world centrally located in the heart of San Diego, a good base camp for any traveler that really wants to soak up all of what SD has to offer. Literally minutes from everything and in any direction you head there are some of SDs best attractions, restaurants and places of interest. I only stayed there for one night, but for a first hostel experience, it was a very good place. The hostel is very clean and the staff are very nice! #Recommend
I had the best experience of my entire life at ITH Zoo Hostel in Hillcrest. The people were absolutely amazing souls. Everyone there was very friendly and respectful. I "fell in love" with so many different people, I didn't want to leave. Andre, Grace, Tiffany, Scott, Todd, Cameron and Laura were some of my favorite souls and I really wish I would have taken pictures with them and gotten to know them better.
