After they installed a new ac we continued to have issues every time they had excuses for why they screwed up the install. Recently we had another issue, the technician called me back after repeated phone calls on a weekend. He said it was going to be $175 for a service call when we have a service contract for one year. After a few minutes of serious questioning his BS he informed me he will not come out. Making more and more excuses for previous issues. I had it and called another company. Wonderful company to deal with. Genuinely concerned about their customers. From initial proposal from ***** to installation of AC unit, it was a pleasure to deal with Island air. Would highly recommend island air.

After spending over $5000 to install a new AC unit and Air Handler, I had to have Island Air come back out multiple times for failing parts (cheap capacitors) and faulty duct installation. Each time they fought me over the service fee, which I should not have to pay for poor quality products and service. Our AC won't cool our house below 77 degrees until after 9pm - and according to Island Air - that's not their fault. Somehow companies like this pass the buck to the homeowner as if we did something to make their work fail..... read more

I made an appointment with Island Air in May to service my A/C unit that was blowing warm air. They never showed up. When I called to ask when they were coming, they didn't record the appointment. We scheduled for the following day. They sent a rookie who was on the phone the whole time with a senior technician. He found no leaks but the refrigerant was low so he added 3 pounds. On July 6, 2022 I had my central air conditioning unit serviced by a technician by the name of ****** who is currently employed with Island Air Conditioning. He gave my 3 ton condenser unit a tune by flushing the drain and adding freon. Unfortunately, the technician added R410 freon instead of the correct substitute for my unit which was R422 which replaces the R22 refrigerant that my unit calls for. We had to replace both our A/C’s. After reviewing various companies reviews and meeting with the top 3, we decided to use Island Air. They were great from day one! They started working immediately installing our new A/C and gave us a portable A/C to use in the meantime, since it was summer we were extremely thankful for that! On our last scheduled maintenance appointment for our a/c unit, we were told that the capacitor was functioning at a very low level and should be replaced. the technician said it would cost $200.00 for a new one. I objected to the price for three reasons. First, I could buy one from amazon for ten to fifteen dollars. second, the tech was already at our house, so the price should not be for a repair call. I've just (July 2020) had my Trane A/C replaced with a Carrier after twelve years of service. I've used Island air conditioning for both my current and former A/C installations and service. Even though the quality of name brand A/C units may change over time, the quality of Island has always been there.
