I would still recommend Ishnala but was disappointed in two things. We were at Ishnala years ago and had the best jumbo shrimp cocktail ever! The shrimp were huge and full of flavor. Unfortunately, Ishnala is going the cheap route and getting their shrimp from Asia. It was medium sized, not large as stated, mushy and flavorless. For dinner I had the filet and lobster tail. Excellent food, atmosphere, staff and old fashioneds!
I’m sad to say I was really let down by Ishnala’s lack of COVID safety measures. The tables in the dining room were very close together and none of the staff wore masks. We went to the bar on the lower level while waiting for a table and no space had been made at the bar for social distance. Also they still don’t accept reservations, which just seems lazy. I had been wanting to go to Ishnala for years and was very excited to be going, but by the end of the meal I felt so disappointed that I’m not sure if I’ll ever go back.
I had an amazing time here with my parents for a great dinner and an even better view! I will be coming back!
Arrived right as they opened for dinner so we could be in and out before the restaurant got crowded. The restaurant operates as of COVID doesn’t exist. Not one single employee wore a face covering. Besides our family, we saw only one other family who approached their table with face coverings. The restaurant didn’t even attempt to honor social distancing by limiting seating. My experience tonight was sadly upsetting. When we arrived the parking lot was only 1/3 full. We were told a 20 minute wait and shown the bar area. We were seated shortly after. Our waitress was very nice. Our food was good. But as it started getting busier... well, we became upset at our placement. Our food had already arrived and it was to late to ask to be moved.
