If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would. STEER CLEAR!!!! Everyone I have ever known who has lived here, myself included, has been scammed. Here I am 8 months out of my lease, I REPEAT 8 MONTHS, since I have lived at this complex and I am sent an e-mail stating that I owe nearly $600. These people are frauds and conniving tricksters who manipulate with willful knowledge of not being able to provide on lease terms and parkin. Attention dog lovers they will harass by having your dog impounded

Received a bill when I moved out for the carpet. Paid in full but they still sent it to collections and was being threatened by the collection agency to give them my debit card info or it would be put on to my credit report. I don't k know why these people think it's just ok to give my information to other people when they were paid in full. Had to make multiple calls to get it taken care of. While living here a lot of the stuff didn't make sense they wanted 400 for a pet deposit but your apartment came with free pet roaches... read more

This company some how came into ownership of my rental property while living there in the summer of 2018. Although we were told we had paid any last due payments for rent, water, or other services rendered through this company, 6 months later we got a letter in the mail saying we still owed $200. I then got a call from Kevin P*****, and he told me it was for "a community water bill" which I had never heard of in my entire stay at the complex. This is the worst experience I have ever had applying for an apartment. I live in Arizona and am moving to California end of June. Explained exactly what I wanted and was told it was available. Seems some temp employee made a mistake. Don't apply here if you live out of state as it is a big waste of time.

September of 2018, a water leak began from my ac and the fan in my bathroom, maintenance came by to fix AC leak and look at the leak in the bathroom, several days go by with more leaking from drip drip to Waterfall coming from my fan and my light fixture, then maintenance tells me that they will tell my upstairs neighbor not to use their toilet right before they moved out.... I renewed my lease on a month to month basis in May, but they never adjusted my rent payment. I thought it was low at first, but as months past, it was consistent and no one contacted me, so I assumed all was fine. Four months later, they charged my $1,200 more than I had been paying for my September rent. As a tenant, I moved out in Jan 2018 and did not receive my security deposit back or an itemized statement within the 21 days per CA law. I reached out several times and could not get someone to reach back out to me and the few times they did reach back out my issue was not being resolved. I finally filed a small claims case against them for my security deposit and a bad faith penalty, no one showed up for court (not surprised) and I won my case. In my opinion -Avenue 5 abuses the LIHTC Tax Credit program by treating people very badly; by not taking complaints seriously, lying and, then blaming the victim. Family told me to protect myself report this to the BBB. First they discriminate. They gave my original apartment to another applicant. Never bothered to tell me so or apologize.
