It is beyond cruel the abuse these elephants endure in order to "entertain" the public and for profit no less! Elephants belong in the wild with their families... NOT in fair's... Please have respect for these magnificent animals!!!
Have a people fair without the animals. Baby elephants and other wildlife are beaten when young to fear the weapons (bullhook) forever. Animal trainers should be in the criminal justice system and not invited into communities for a family event. It's depraved. - like communities that 50 yrs ago hosted a carnival freak show of people with serious medical conditions and the same type of people who thought gawking at suffering people was a good time. Please be better than this and cancel the animal circus.
I am giving you a 1 star review as you knowingly support animal cruelty by using animals for entertainment. Times have changed (note that circuses are losing patrons and elephant riding is no longer an attraction for major travel agencies). There are many options for entertainment, and it would be in your best interest to eliminate the use of animals for profit. The alternative option is for people to boycott your venue.
I am writing to express my extreme concern and dismay that the Ionia Free Fair will be allowing the elephants from the Circus Pages Circus to be part of your scheduled events this year. Thankfully the public is becoming more educated to the extreme abuse that these so called "tamed" exotic animals suffer at the hands of the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, there are still those that are unaware of the potential danger of having wildlife in such a controlled and stressful situation and how dangerous that situation can b... read more
Having a Fair is one thing. Having a Circus is just plain cruel. Do you know what these animals go through and continue to go through on a daily basis in order to perform stupid tricks? Intimidation and abuse constantly. That is not welcome for family entertainment. Ask any kid what they think after the truth is given to them, and guaranteed any child and adult with feelings and empathy for that matter will turn it down hands down. Please stop now
Wild animals are not for humans to exploit. Animals are sentient beings just like you. Animals did not ask to be chained, caged and gawked at. Animals should never be held captive. Captivity kills. Please refer to the following hashtags: #CaptivityKills #GodsInShackles #Blackfish #Juma #Harambe #Arturo Please do the right thing and cancel Circus Pages Circus from your events.
Nice Fair!....Interesting when I went to review the fair I noticed 9 people that gave you negative reviews because you have a circus. After looking at their profiles I found were they live to be very interesting Norwich, Norfolk - Missouri - Radford, Virginia - East Brunswick, New Jersey - Flagstaff, Arizona - Seattle, Washington - Prairie, Alberta - Grand Rapids, Michigan and one obviously fake. Congratulations you guys draw people from all over the US and Canada! Keep up the good work!
Allegan Country fair is better and more affordable.
