Oh my.... what an absolute disaster trying to make an appointment with Dr. Varela after spending the weekend in the hospital. The doctor that discharged me said to make an appointment with Dr. Varela within the week: 3/2/26 to 3/6/26. When I called I don't know how to characterize the interaction other than semi-hostile/confrontational and unconcerned. They seem very competent, but i can see i am not only one having problems with being rescheduled...i dont understand why they can not up their staff to match their volume
As much as I appreciate the nurse I see here, the way this office handles scheduling is completely unacceptable. I have been rescheduled multiple times—none of which were my fault—and every single time, my appointment has been pushed out by more than three months. I understand that unforeseen circumstances arise, but when it’s your scheduling changes affecting your patients, there needs to be a competent system in place to accommodate them. Calling this place is a joke called to try and make an appointment for my father in law about some concerns regarding his heart and how he was feeling we tried to prevent going to the ER cause he is self pay. Amd the receptionist said that they can get him in to see someone until April and May something can happen to him meanwhile its ridiculous
Was concerned about my low heart beat. I called the heart clinic. Julie called me back and gave me a very clear understanding of why my heart rate was low--pvc's not counted. She ran a test with the moniter and seemed to think all is well. Thank you Julie.
