My experience as a patient was inhuman. Coercive medicine practices that felt like text book examples of what not to do. Many staff members would raise their voice at me when speaking at me and use body posturing to intimidate me upon approaching me. Despite my attempts to communicate my complexities as a person, collateral reports tainted the lens other practitioners of medicine viewed me through. Security, nurses, aides, doctors, counselors and facilitators.... All great. All were remarkable and generous. The empathy shown to me and more importantly, my other. It was of the most genuine nature. Empathy is free and freely given here.
