I’ve been at other psychiatric inpatient units and not a single one compares to this. I got my own private room, kind and compassionate care, productive and helpful group therapy sessions, great medications, and a very solid plan for maintaining my mental health after discharge. I also made some great friends. I feel very fortunate to have stayed at this unit and if I ever end up in crisis again (though I really hope I don’t), it’s no question that this hospital is where I will stay (assuming I’m given the choice). Emergency rooms often get a bad reputation, especially when they handle psychiatric patients who may not understand why they’re there. But I just had a great experience as the caretaker of a family member who is in a very fragile state. The front desk staff and a nurse (shoutout to Nora) collaborated so well with me. They both accepted collateral information I’d prepared on the patient and made sure it was in the right hands, all while being discreet so the patient would not be triggered knowing I was sharing it. Overall, I had a positive experience at this inpatient psychiatric hospital. Most staff were supportive and helpful. A few staff members and my case manager worsened my mental health, and one day was understaffed. I’d recommend the inpatient unit, but not the INOVA Leesburg ER.
My experience in the erwas terrible. The doctor could careless. My nurse Mary was terrshe didn't care about me at all. Just not acceptable care
I stayed here from december 2022 to Jan 2023. I was admitted due to clinical depression and suicidal intent. They provided me a room and the staff were super nice and kind. I stayed 3 weeks and i felt safe at this place. Thank you for your kindness and care.
