Use them on my fat bike and absolutely love! The engagement feels instant, the sound is insane. Anyone and everyone can hear you coming from a mile away and it’s so unique to i9. Will be putting on my next build for sure!
I've had an I9 wheelset since 2007 and it's still incredibly tight and superior to, other modern, wheelsets of today. I also have a newer set of carbon Reynolds wheels with I9 hubs that are also incredibly high performance wheels. I couldn't be happier with their stiffness, weight, engagement, and value.
I received my I9 270 24h wheelset today and they are a work of art and engineering. While they are very light they are also a bit heavier than advertised. This 27.5" set of wheels was purported to weigh 1480 g but came in at 1596 g with tape and valves. Very light for even carbon and especially aluminum rims but not quite what the website claims and the valves and tape are probably only 24 g of that 116 g difference. Hence the 4 start rating.
