Lovely venue, and am looking forward to another conference there next year. One suggestion; more casual seating in hallways and outside the Main Hall. As a senior, it was difficult for me to stand for the length of time we needed to wait for the hall to open. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food court sandwiches were wonderful as was the coffee.
Love this convention center
The lack of consistent free WiFi is one downside, but having attended events as different as GenCon, a denominational ordination ceremony, and a circus in the Indiana Convention Center, and having been to a lot of conferences, I can definitely say that it stands out in its position relative to the city’s downtown, with a wider array of restaurants and shopping located much closer than is the case for most conference venues.
It is not the best but not the worst. I wish they had digital maps showing where everything is compare to you and an interactive touch screen display to help you find local hotels and things to do while you are in Indy.
I thought I was in the freezer section of the grocery store. It was so cold in Hall K. The communication team was terrible. The person or persons running the video/PowerPoint lacking in knowledge of how to stay on script. Several times they were lost on what should be up on the screen. When you are paying for a venue the people running it should be top notch . Seemed like I was watching a high school student using PowerPoint for the first time.
Business response:
Hey Scott. We followed up. UMC had someone from their organization scheduled to run their presentation and unfortunately they were a "no show." So, the person operating the PowerPoint was a fill-in by Markey's Audio-Visual and was not as versed on their presentation. We apologize for what you witnessed but hope you can understand the circumstances.
All staff were so friendly and kind.
I am from Oregon and it was so awesome. The staff was so gracious and helpful. Thank you very much! #WEC18
