Cheap, fast, good If you want a quick snack, India Sweets and Spices is a great place to grab some lunch. A few samosas and gulab jamun for dessert and you've got a meal for under $5. Super-casual atmosphere with TVs. Good for big groups of hungry Indian-food lovers!
Gorge Fest It was a Saturday night and lovah and I were in the mood for a quick snack. We stopped by India Sweets & Spices and ordered the $5 combination plate, thinking $5=quick snack. But holy! Lovah and I stuffed ourselves silly while watching (and memorizing the better dance moves from) the Bollywood videos displayed on a widescreen TV. The evening was almost ruined by a samosa that was filled with mush instead of discernible chunks of peas, potatoes, and the like and a baked bread that was a sad substitute for naan. Very good samosas and mango lassi. The samosas and mango lassi are pretty good here. I've only tried things from the diner next to the market, I haven't bought anything from the market. My in-laws on the other hand have, and twice they've had to return the packaged basmati rice because they said it looked "bad". Everything else is good, the diner is always clean and the food is always fresh.
Yum Good food and entertainment. Inexpensive and quick as well. Mango lassi was fine, but the other dishes were tasty. There is an India Sweets and Spices everywhere so it's convenient too.
I recently visited this store. this store is really huge and the prices of this store are less than other Indian stores.
Their new indian pizza is pretty good. But beware of their groceries most of them are expired. PS: 4 Stars for their Pizza :)
Awesome combination of Indian cafeteria and Indian grocery store. This is the best place I've found to buy a lot of spices, particularly stuff like cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. The cafeteria food is alright, but a little bland. Still an awesome place overall.
Even though it is a grocery store, this place has pretty good Indian food. One of the best in LA. Just a little small business - so more like fast food.
Lousiest possible quality of grocery products! – As Indians, when we moved to Burbank some months back, it was amusing to hear such a variety of quality complaints about the nearest Indian grocery-India Sweets & Spices, Los Feliz, from our fellow Indian friends/ colleagues. We were advised to always travel to Artesia(30 miles away!)for our Indian ration! Still, from October, 2011- March, 2012, we made 3 trips to this grocery..guess we were destined to learn the hard way! Our 1st visit was near Diwali and focussed mainly on a... read more
