Stingrays, dinosaurs, and faux hurricanes can all be found at the Imaginarium Science Center, which soaks spongy young brains in knowledge via hands-on exhibits and 3-D movies about the natural world. Families can observe moray eels and other marine life in the Window to the Sea aquarium, or reach out to gentle stingrays in an open tank. Several daily shows with live animals compete for attention with a dino dig where patrons learn how archeologists excavate fossilized bones using nothing but the power of their minds. I want to share how wonderful the hands on exhibits are for the children and of course “older” children. We are from Pennsylvania and I was looking for something that we could do with my friends who live in Port Charlotte and I picked this, it was an awesome find. Also sounds as though my friends who live there will be visiting again and whenever we are back you will definitely be on our “list”!! My boys loved the science in motion, being weather forecasters, the interactive video game (it’s short so everyone gets a chance),... read more
The baby Rays in the petting tank, are almost like puppies. When you put your hand in the pool where they are swimming, and move your fingers. They swim to your hand, and glide on to your palm. You can feel their little lips kissing you, they feel like velvet, they are soo sweet. The starfish feel unreal. I loved playing with the baby Rays they are soo cute. The fish tank in the middle of the next room is really awesome! It has a sunken ship inside the tank, the fish swim in and out of it, very fun to watch the fish. Their i... read more
fun place for families and kids i would say ages 1-10
Nice museum for a couple of hours. Admission prices are reasonable and there is quite a bit to do for the kids.
While my husband and I were a bit to old for IMAG. It was wonderful to see the joy in the faces of the children around us. You sparked there imaginations.
Great family place, the staff is amazing. Will definitely be going back.
Sara and Rebecca were great with our Girls during our Girl Scout Camp In. This is the second time we have done a workshop with Sara and would do it again in a heartbeat!
My family and I went yesterday and all of us (aged from 2-34) had SO MUCH FUN. Miss Sara put on the coolest science show I've ever seen, we all had our jaws on the floor. it was super educational and fun. there was something there for everyone and we can't wait to come back.
They way over charge for what you get. Very small, can get through the whole museum in 15 minutes minus the movies. 3D glasses for the movies did not work, most people In the movie walked out due to this. 2 of the 3 Virtual reality machines did not work. 75% of the NASA space machines did not work. In the very small fossil museum there was a spot to dig for fossils but there was no sand in it so their was nothing to did threw. Kids got bored very quickly. I would not recommend this place to anyone, it was a waste of money.
