History: Our family's Sussex County agricultural heritage dates back to 1910, when Jacob Tanis Sr. bought his first Sussex County Farm. Having immigrated from Holland in the 1890's, the Tanis family initially settled in Paterson, NJ. Young Jacob got into the dairy business by selling extra milk from the family cow. He began looking for land and came to Sussex County. It wasn't long before the Tanis family established one of the world record dairyherds. There isn't a better farm around!
Love picking up fresh produce from Ideal as well as other products they carry (breads and pies are excellent). Great selection and friendly staff. We just picked up a blueberry pie this week and was pleasantly surprised to see it was made with the small blueberries (which is our favorite). And after one taste my husband and I both said it rivaled the best pie we had up in Maine.

We bought vegetables and some local cheese as well as beef chuck and pork shoulder roast. Two of the best meals we have had in a long time! We will be back and highly recommend this lovely local spot. Worth the trip!
