My one star is the inaccessibility to afford care to an already struggling population of very sick people. I know it costs money and time. But I think the fees are borderline criminal. Several doctors I’ve talked with have also agreed about the fees required to seek help. Such a bummer. We all hate insurance but out of pocket costs are quite extreme. Wish I was rich to get proper care.
I don’t care how good you are or if you have a podcast. If you are making care inaccessible to those who need it most.. those of us who are alone & disabled .. who don’t have families or rich husbands to help us… you are greedy and deserve disdain. There is a huge problem in this functional medicine world…. If you are not accepting Medicaid and/or charging exorbitant cash pay, you DO NOT care about helping those who are sick and need it the most! This is clear. Do better.
I have met with Dr Linda Bluestein in person and online edu coaching with Rebecca Gluck PA. They both are a wealth of knowledge on the MANY issues us hEDS patients face! I have been to many Doctors, surgeons, pain Doctors, rheumatologist, including the Mayo Clinic in Florida. I will have to say that Dr Bluestein did one of the most thorough physical exams for hEDS that I have ever had. Dr. Bluestein is the most competent and caring doctor I've ever had. Before seeing her, I was at risk of having to leave my job due to declining health. With her help, over the course of a year, I'm feeling nearly back to normal, and I've been able to keep working in a career that I love. Dr. Bluestein is knowledgeable and always looking out for the latest research, but her super power is her ability to listen deeply to patients and partner with them to chip away at concerns one by one. I'd recommend Dr. Bluestein to anyone!
