Hyatt Place Pittsburgh–North Shore fell far short of basic Hyatt service standards. After booking, I called to change my reservation dates. I spoke with the reservation line once and the front desk twice, and each time I was clearly told the change had been completed. The reservation agent even contacted the front desk directly to confirm the update. Had reservation, confirmed with both the front desk and reservation hotline, even had reservation number. Called because I could not do online check in so called the location. Said they could not check me in but would charge me anyway.
We were staying at Hyatt House (deserves a 5 star), our cab took us to the wrong Hyatt, the receptionist told us we couldn't even wait in the warm lobby for our uber. Despite a snow storm and us being booked into another Hyatt. Honestly reception was incredibly rude despite us only responding with kindness, would encourage management to review.
New Years Eve and the kitchen was closed! Closed!!! Why? The snacks available were disgusting (muffins, cookies, etc.) available at the front desk were hard. The person behind the desk even refused to sell them, they were so disgusting. The staff were not friendly or helpful. The hotel has no shuttle...in this day and age, why? Terrible experience and would not recommend?
