Red flags. Staff seems ignorant and that opens up a can of worms. The office seems like it's stuck in the 90s. Difficult to make an appointment. Difficult to reach the actual office. Bad staff. I haven't even met the doctor yet.
Dr. Gelabert is one of the kindest and most thorough physicians I have ever worked with. He took the time to explain my condition, answer questions, and make sure I understood both the procedure and the recovery process. I never felt rushed, and he treated me with genuine compassion and respect throughout the entire process. His bedside manner is exceptional, and his experience and confidence helped put me at ease before surgery. I was also very impressed with the care and attention to detail he showed. I cannot say enough incredible things about Dr. Gelabert. After years of struggling with chronic neck, shoulder, and arm pain, and feeling like I was getting nowhere with providers who focused only on imaging, I finally found a physician who truly sees the whole patient. He took the time to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and most importantly, perform a thorough, hands-on evaluation of my body…not just rely on scans or reports. I had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) surgery with Dr. Gelabert. I had TOS for over 6 years. He is not only a fantastic surgeon but also a fantastic person. He checks all the boxes a great physician needs to check. He's knowledgable, kind, patient, and listens. It's been now almost 2 years since my surgery and I am completely healed, better than ever. Dr. Gelabert gave me my life back and I cannot thank him enough for that. I highly recommend him!
I first met Dr. Hugh Gelabert in 1992 when he performed my first port-a-cath placement procedure. He was kind and made sure that all of my fears were allayed. Since then he has done all but one of my port procedures. The one he didn’t perform was because I moved away from the area. I would allow him to operate on me and my family at any time. He is such a compassionate and talented man.
