The whimsical name alone should attract customers. Howe's Bayou is a restaurant from the owners of Tom's Oyster Bar, emphasizing a Cajun atmosphere and menu to supplement the oysters and seafood. Cajun entrees include Gumbo, okra, Crawfish Etouffee' and Shrimp Etouffee'. Besides great wines and bottled beers, the bar offers a choice of bourbons and appropriate mixed drinks such as Mint Juleps. You can even get a Chocolate Brownie Sundae with melting chocolate for dessert.

YaYa Gumbo is delicious, Shrimp Creole left my tast buds tingling after finishing off the entire plate! we will definitely be back.
I Enjoyed the lobster bisque. Very savory and great to the taste buds. I also went with the shrimp creole that was tantalizing to the taste buds. I topped things off with a "key lime pie" cocktail. EXCELLENT CHOICE ...

Love this place. The Crawfish Etouffee is so good. Also had the Smoked Whitefish dip. The staff was great accommodating my low(er) carb preferences—a side of veggies instead of rice with the etouffee (green beans dipped in the etouffee gravy is delicious); cucumber slices instead of crackers for the whitefish dip. Would love to see seafood gumbo (shrimp, crab, crawfish) added to the menu ;)

Business response:
Thanks Tara, I think a seafood Gumbo is a great idea. I don't think we can pull it off as a daily item but could be a weekend special. perhaps we will try it out on our
You'll be very disappointed if you go here expecting the food to taste like New Orleans. There's no way to compete with fresh from the Gulf shrimp , for example-that would be an unfair comparison. However (no pun), there is no excuse for the mediocre execution of the dishes they serve. The food isn't bad - just lackluster. The red beans and rice, for example, had good flavor but the beans were watery...no excuse for beans with no gravy. The gumbo needs work, as do the other Creole staples; not bad, just not really good. Wait... read more

Drinks good. Food okay. Service horrible. Our server acted as if we were bothering him.
