I'm sure their system would have led to suicides. They entrap you for life. Their system is run like a private business that only cares about charging more, not an organisation that is there to help the homeless and less fortunate. It's designed to keep you in poverty. You cannot get ahead as they just keep increasing your rent.
Yes they help you to have a roof over your head, which is appreciated however the treatment of tenants is extremely poor from a certain staff member I won't name.. It seems it's okay to charge money from rent assistance you don't even currently receive, essentially thieving from tenants who are already doing it hard financially. It's very obvious when people are not suited to the position they are employed in and who do damage to the brand and harm to tenants wellbeing.
So far, my wife and I don't have any issues to complain about. Everytime we need maintenance done, they are very quick with it.
Housing Choices creates toxic living situations and does nothing to remediate them, despite numerous tenant complaints. The city apartments have people with anti social behaviours and drug related activities. Tenants who cannot afford to move elsewhere are forced to put up with unsavoury living conditions. Not safe or pleasant places. Disgraceful.
