This elegant and eccentric restaurant is a true treasure. Owners Robert and Robin Trick turn out real treats from this kitchen. Situated in a 1920s cottage with a picturesque patio, the fare is American with a Southwestern, and sometimes Asian twist. Mismatched place settings and cozy country decor give this restaurant eclectic charm. Fresh fish is delivered daily and makes up a big part of the menu. The Smoked Salmon Cakes are a big seller. Lunches feature creative soups, salads and sandwiches.

We moved to Tempe a few months ago and have struggled to find good restaurants in the area but house of tricks was wonderful. I had the vegetarian enchilada and it was very nice. The only thing that let house of tricks down was that although we had a reservation our table was not ready and we had to wait in the bar for 20 minuets. The ... read more
House of tricks was a complete and utter let down. My pool furniture is nicer than their patio furniture. We went there expecting a romantic anniversary dinner. It started negatively with a very small table and got worse from there. How hard is it to put a warm hard crust of bread on the table with thawed butter? My wife ordered Caesar salad which I tried and was ok I started with a Cup of mushroom soup the Cup could not have been 3 inches square. I'm not sure what the chef was thinking when he put goat cheese on top of it t... read more
One of my absolute favorite places to go in Tempe. Have been introducing a lot of people to this little gem. Enjoy spectacular dishes (great use of seasonal and local produce) in a relaxing and magical atmosphere... we usually opt for the Vineyard Patio for larger groups.
I just had a wonderful dinner, also loved that gluten free items were marked on the menu so I didn't have to interrogate my server. Beautiful setting, lovely food, attentive servers. I highly recommend!
Such personality and the food was phenomenal!! The pork belly and short ribs Colorado was spectacular! Soothing atmosphere and amazing, comforting food.
