This hotel is famous for being one of the locations in Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller Vertigo. However, it is much more than a film location. It is a venerable San Francisco institution whose history stretches back more than 75 years. The decor is classically luxurious with furnishings in the guest rooms that are comfortable and in warm autumn tones.

Still waiting for the refund......... Staff kind enough, but not helpful. Room was clean.
I wouldn't recommend. Accept the age & history of the hotel but its very aged & the rooms are tiny. Minimal service.
Retro and friendly and despite renovations it's a cool place to stay. Ignore there's no breakfast as the diner on tne corner is more than good enough
We booked the room on a whim and it was great would stay there again.
We were here over New Year's Holidays. Check in was quick. Employees were all very friendly. Our room was spotless. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had plenty of towels. Only feedback I have is the air freshener used by the housekeepers caused me to have an Asthma attack. I normally ask that no sprays be used. Not sure if I did when I checked in. Overall experience-awesome!
