The room was very dis tasteful. Very dry air and the TV was awkwardly placed in the dresser could not watch from either bed. Room 638 the elevator had the worst smell ever. Went to the bar had a meal&some drinks. The bartender had personal company in that was uncontrollable with the things she was saying to us. I cashed out did not leave my normal tip of 50. Since she allowed her friend to continue to yell &curse at us. Dusti could not find menu for room service to order breakfast. Advice drive past&check in at American inn.

I have my own personal reasons. I have not set foot there since 1997 and am not planning on going there anytime in the near future.
Grew up in Ottumwa but never stayed in the hotel until tonight. Usually always stay with family when I visit but decided to check out the hotel this visit. Reasonably priced, clean rooms, and surprised by the breakfast tickets. I was a little hesitant to book here at first knowing it's an older hotel, but so glad I did! The history is incredible, and despite being older, everything works perfectly and there are some upgrades in our room. Looking forward to staying here the rest of our visit, and for future visits!
Great hotel..the family that has it are wonderfull..espically kay she goes above and beyond for any of her guests and she is the most down to earth business owner ive ever had the privilege of knowing
