I booked a 4 night stay at this hotel (through Expedia), beginning on 11/14/2010. I called about 3:00 PM on the 14th and told the person on the phone I would be in about 10:30 PM. They said no problem. I got to the hotel about 10:00 PM and the lobby was LOCKED AND DARK . They also did not answer the phone. I called Expedia and they also tried to reach someone with no luck. I would never consider this hotel no matter how hard up I was for a place to stay. (By the way, Expedia set me up at a Hilton for the same money)
This hotel should be condemned! I checked into a room and two hours later, my daughter became extremely ill. There was mold all over the ceiling in the bedroom and bathroom. To add onto this most unpleasant experience, they are refusing to issue a refund. DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!!!!!!
Hotel Oaks was a wonderful surprise to find in Gainesville, Florida! I was extremely happy with the affordability, service, cleanliness, and tranquillity of the venue. After a great nights sleep, I was able to drive five minutes to all of the major shops and restaurants in the area. I would give this hotel a five out of five star rating!
The room at this newly named Newberry Inn conference ctr-used to be ramada limited, I had to figure that out on my own, was truly unpleasant. And on arrival to the hotel at three pm when check in is started our room was not ready and we had to wait fifteen minutes for them to finish cleaning it. Which would be tolerable if it seemed cleaned when we went in. It looked as if someone might have vacuumed, put new sheets on and just picked up.. None of the counters were wiped, there was hair on them...And on the towels... It was ... read more
We love this little destination when were traveling north to visit our grandparents which is about 3 times a year. The place is clean and the staff is very attentive to our needs.
The last review before this one is from the hotel manager, Patti. Nice enough lady and she refunded our money... but read below for our post-remodel experience was like.The blankets were visibly dirty, the carpet and tile floors were just disgusting... just absolutely bloody horrible, TV did not work, etc. Just awful. This was during a Gator football game weekend so there were absolutely no other options for a place to stay.
